Our Passion for Mushrooms
At Spitefully Foraged, we are dedicated to exploring the diverse edible mushrooms found in the area. Our passion drives us to share the beauty and flavor of these natural treasures with our community.
We like to hike, camp, and forage. Last summer while exploring we found some mushroom poachers that threatened us while we were harvesting some Maitake.
We aren't greedy and generally leave some mushrooms for other foragers to enjoy, but these guys were driving around harrassing people and butchering these beautiful specimens.
We hiked back to our camp site after harvesting a few of these magnificent maitake, but were so upset by the encounter we hiked back in and took the remaining maitake on the tree out of spite. Hence the name.
